Les 3 Vallées is a massive interconnected ski area. So big, in fact, that it claims to be the largest interconnected ski area in the entire world. There are 7 different ski areas that connect to make up Les 3 Vallées: Orelle, Val Thorens, Saint-Martin-de-Belleville, Les Menuires, Brides-les-Bains, Courchevel, and Méribel. European ski instructor Marius Quast explored the area, primarily focusing on the villages and skiing experience at Méribel.
Each of the 7 resorts in Les 3 Vallées have their own value and their own charm. Some or more family friendly, others present more of an authentic Alps experience, and some are quite a bit harder. Marius highlights Méribel’s east and quick access to the other ski areas, meaning you can easily hop around between villages and ski resorts simply by riding lifts, gondolas, and ski runs.
Les 3 Vallées is set to open for the season between December 6th and April 17th, though both Val Thorens and Orelle are scheduled to open on November 22nd. In total, the area includes 161 ski lifts, 600km of ski runs, and 25 summits. It’s truly massive.
