If you were a fan of Chris Benchetler’s 2019 short ski film Fire On The Mountain, which used light-covered suits to capture stunning night skiing, snowboarding, and surfing shots, then his new film Mountains of the Moon is something you surely won’t want to miss. The trailer for the new movie was just released today, October 30th, providing a first look at the finished product.

The film, narrated by mycologist Paul Stamets, features the likes of Chris Benchetler, Mikey Hart, Rob Machado, Michelle Parker, Sam Kuch, Elena Hight, Danny Davis, Dennis Ranalter, Alannah Yip, Hamish McArthur, Sam Stroh, Carson Storch, Hannah Bergemann, Ryan Howard, Casey Brown, Peter Benchetler, Tom Balfour, and Kimi Werner.
The world premier, including a special exhibit, is set for November 15th-23rd in Santa Monica, California. A theater run will begin on November 14th and the film is set to be released to digital streaming services in 2026. It’s looking like quite the gnarly movie.
