Photography in skiing.

Photography has thrived in skiing and snowboarding, whether it’s for marketing, magazines, or gnarly posters. So many of us grew up looking through different magazines or hanging up pictures of our favorite skiers on our walls, and as both sports have developed and evolved, so to has photography.

Whistler Blackcomb‘s new short film “Beyond The Image” follows seven Whistler-based photographers through a single season as they photograph everything from stormy backcountry missions to park sessions. These seven are some of the best in the business, helping to grow the sports over the past several decades.

Beyond The Image - Whistler Blackcomb (FULL MOVIE) [4K]

Whistler Blackcomb is officially scheduled to open on November 21st, 2025. While that’s still a little less than a month away, the mountains have already seen some serious snow. According to their website, they already have a base depth of over 30 inches, and the next several days could bring even more heavy snowfall. It’s already looking like it could be a deep season at the Canadian resort.
