Most people don’t think of October and powder skiing in the same sentence, no matter where they live around the world, but those willing to earn their turns in several areas around British Columbia have been able to take advantage of some serious snowfall this month.

James of Rise & Alpine took advantage of this seriously epic snow, ripping the mountains around Whistler to claim some of the first powder turns of the 2025-2026 winter season.

Whistler Blackcomb isn’t set to open until November 21st, 2025, but their snow totals are already looking serious. So far their base depth is over 30 inches, and the next several days look like they could be bringing some serious snowfall. If things continue this way, the 2025-2026 season will be an epic one for North America’s largest ski resort.
