Unclaimed Baggage, the only lost luggage store in the United States, is prepping for their massive annual ski sale, offering winter apparel from Patagonia, Arc’teryx, Canada Goose, and more, in addition to both ski and snowboard gear on Saturday, November 1st, 2025.
With the help of tracking technology, airlines and airports are able to reunite over 99.5% of bags with their owners immediately after a flight. When bags are really lost, airlines pay out the passenger. After 3 months of being unclaimed, a bag can be deemed truly orphaned. Only .03% of all checked luggage winds up in this state. Unclaimed Baggage takes these bags, sorts their contents, and resells about 1/3 of the unclaimed items.
The Unclaimed Baggage Ski Sale has been going on for more than 40 years, inviting people from across the country to the Alabama town for a massive sale on ski and winter apparel, ski equipment, accessories, and more. This year, the first 50 people in line will get a 30-minute head start to shop the entire store and be entered into a drawing to win a $450 Unclaimed Baggage gift card.
This year, to celebrate the annual event, Unclaimed Baggage is hosting a Halloween-themed campout experience beginning on Friday, October 31st. Friday will include a live music, food, games, giveaways, and a parking lot campout. You can learn more about the annual event here.
