Encouraging news out of the great state of Maine where Sunday River Resort completed their annual snowmaking test at 5:30am on Saturday, September 20th. With hints of fall colors peppering the iconic Northeastern slopes, everyone’s favorite Yeti flipped the switch and successfully fired up the snowmaking system.
“Winter tapped us on the shoulder this morning, and we answered with our annual snowmaking test on North Peak. The snowmaking crew fired up the system on Lower Downdraft, not to make snow just yet, but to make sure everything is ready to roll the second temps drop.” -Sunday River
No opening day announced as of yet for Sunday River but they are certainly ready to start making snow once the mercury dips. Lets go!
