Exciting news from Montana where Big Sky Resort just unveiled the cabins for the Explorer Gondola. The gondola will be fitted with custom-designed Omega V Cabins, produced by CWA, providing seating for up to 10. The new cabins feature floor-to-ceiling windows, convenient exterior racks and interior holders keep gear secure, and heated, ergonomic seats.
The Explorer Gondola will provide Big Sky guest a comfy journey to Kircliff and the summit of Lone Mountain at 11,166’. Now all guests will have the opportunity to experience base-to-peak connectivity with state-of-the-art technology.

The gondola replaces the Explorer Chairlift which was decommissioned last season. The new lift will provide similar access to beginner terrain at its mid-station stop. Big Sky Resort is scheduled to open for the season on November 26th, 2025 and the Explorer Gondola will open to the public on December 20, 2025.
