Lake Louise, Alberta — After years of planning, Alberta’s largest ski resort is almost ready to debut a new terrain expansion.
Yesterday, Lake Louise Ski Resort announced that Richardson’s Ridge will make its debut during the 2025-26 season. An official opening date hasn’t been announced, but the ski resort aims to open it by spring 2026.
Richardson’s Ridge is a 200-acre terrain pod that will be serviced by a new detachable high-speed quad chairlift. The first phase of the expansion will add five new beginner and intermediate trails, along with some gentle and cruisy glades. The terrain will provide spectacular views of Pika Valley and Mt. Temple. Future phases will include advanced and expert glading, along with a surface lift that will connect skiers from Temple Lodge.

“Richardson’s Ridge embodies the spirit of Lake Louise: More Mountain, More Possibility, More Adventure,” said Lake Louise’s media team.
Over the past five years, Lake Louise has been investing heavily in on-mountain improvements. This includes the addition of the Summit Quad, the West Bowl Terrain expansion, the Juniper Express, and the new Pipestone Express Heated Bubble six-pack.
If you’ve ever considered a Banff ski trip, now’s the time to make it happen.
