Homewood Mountain Resort Begins Removing Trees For Gondola Installation

Homewood Mountain Resort is excited to announce they are taking their first step toward opening the brand new Homewood Gondola.

Crews at Homewood resumed timber harvesting on the mountain as part of their hazardous fuels reduction project which was approved in 2024. In addition to removing hazardous fuels, Homewood will be removing trees along the future gondola line to prepare for gondola installation in spring 2026. The Homewood Gondola will replace the existing Madden Chair and end at the future Homewood Mid-Mountain Lodge.

As a reminder to anyone who may be interested in checking out the progress, the mountain is closed to the public until they kickoff winter operation:

“For the safety of our community members and work crews, please remember that all trails, access-roads and on-mountain areas at Homewood Mountain Resort are closed until we reopen for the winter season.”

The Homewood Gondola: Elevating the Beginner Experience

The Homewood Gondola will allow us to further enhance the experience for first-timers and families. With our new gondola it opens the door to move new skiers and riders up the mountain from the start. By lifting the beginner terrain 1,000 feet higher up the mountain, it will be possible to chase the higher elevation snow and capture lake views, creating an inspiring and scenic learning environment. The Homewood Gondola is on track to be installed in 2026, bringing a new era of mountain-to-lake connection and enhanced skier experience.
