Skiers and snowboarders around the northern hemisphere are eager to see some snow in the mountains, and though it might not feel like it, those days are closer than it may feel. Vail Resorts recently announced the target opening dates for 13 resorts, both national and international. Resorts in the United States, Canada, and Switzerland could all be opening in just a handful of months.
Vail Resorts Target Opening Dates:
- Mid-October (pending early season conditions): Keystone Resort (CO)
- November 7: Breckenridge Resort (CO)
- November 14:Â Vail Mountain (CO)
- November 15:Â Gemsstock at Andermatt-Sedrun-Disentis (Switzerland)
- November 21:Â Heavenly Ski Resort (CA), Northstar California (CA), Park City Mountain Resort (UT), Whistler Blackcomb (British Columbia)
- November 26: Beaver Creek (CO), Crested Butte Mountain Resort (CO)
- November 29: Crans-Montana (Switzerland)
- December 5:Â Kirkwood Mountain (CA), Stevens Pass Ski Resort (WA)
Epic Pass Prices Go Up On September 1st
The full Epic Pass currently costs $1,075 for adults and $548 for kids aged 5-12. It offers unlimited access to a huge number of resorts across North America including all 5 Vail Resorts in Colorado. Plus it provides access to resorts in Switzerland and 2026 summer access to multiple resorts in Australia.
The Epic Local Pass is a good way to save a bit of money. It offers unlimited access to 3 resorts in Colorado, Stevens Pass, 7 resorts in the Northeast, 8 resorts in the Midatlantic, and 10 resorts in the Midwest. Plus it includes unlimited access with blackout dates at resorts in Utah, California, and Vermont, in addition to 10 total days at Vail, Beaver Creek, and Whistler Blackcomb in British Columbia.
Other regional passes are offered through the Epic Pass as well. This year also introduces the brand new Epic Friends tickets, allowing friends of passholders to purchase day tickets for 50% off. Prices for the Epic Pass go up on September 1st.
