Maine’s finest athlete Donny Pelletier took a trip to Utah’s Deer Valley Resort to check out the resort’s massive terrain expansion. He met with President and COO of Deer Valley Todd Bennet to discuss the progress and the grass conditions before meeting with the head of Mountain Operations to discuss the building process. Unfortunately he didn’t get any turns in in this video, but he’s probably already skied every new run on the mountain.

Deer Valley Resort Expansion

The 2025-26 ski season will see the opening of an enormous terrain expansion at Deer Valley Resort. The East Village Gondola, focused on in the video above, will start at the new East Village and connect to Park Peak with a mid-station at Big Dutch Peak. The gondola will be nearly 3 miles long and feature 40 total lift towers. The 14.5-minute ride will take 3,000 people per hour up the mountain.

The new expansion is adding over 3,700 acres of new skiable terrain to Deer Valley, making it one of the largest ski resorts in North America. 2,000 new acres and nearly 100 new ski runs will cover the mountain once the 2025/26 ski season begins. Once the entire expansion is complete, 5,726 acres of skiable terrain will be accessed through an efficient network of 37 chairlifts and 238 ski runs across 10 mountain peaks at Deer Valley.
