Keene, New Hampshire — New Hampshire has become well-regarded for its mountain biking trails. Thanks to the rise of Highland Mountain Bike Park, various trail networks have sprouted up across the Granite State. This includes trails at smaller New Hampshire ski areas like Arrowhead and Granite Gorge.

Last week, Pivot Cycles released the latest episode of its Underexposed series, which takes viewers on a tour of under-the-radar biking destinations. This episode focuses on Keene, New Hampshire, which is home to Drummer Hill and Granite Gorge. Drummer Hill features singletrack trails that you pedal to, while Granite Gorge is a lift-serviced bike park.

Located near downtown Keene, Drummer Hill Conservation Area features various trails for different ability levels. These trails are managed by the Brattleboro-Keene chapter of the New England Mountain Bike Association (NEMBA). More information regarding these trails can be viewed on Trailforks.

Opened in 2023, the Granite Gorge bike park features a variety of terrain. This includes wide, flowy routes, along with steep trails that have rock, stumps, beams, and jumps. Getting to the top is easy thanks to a double chairlift that’s equipped with bike carriers. There’s also an uphill route ($30 for the whole season) for those who want to earn their turns.

Other summer festivities at Granite Gorge include scenic chairlift rides, a restaurant, events, and concerts. The most noteworthy event is Fall Fest 2025, which will include live music, vendors, beer stein hoists, and more. During ski season, Granite Gorge consists of three lifts, an extensive terrain park network, a learning area, and snow tubing.
