Marius Quast takes on Corbet's Couloir.

JACKSON HOLE, Wyoming – Corbet’s Couloir is easily one of the most intimidating and famous ski trails in the world. The legendary run at Jackson Hole hosts one of the best ski competitions of the year, in addition to giving us some incredible videos to watch all year round (from successes to wipeouts). German ski instructor Marius Quast took on Corbet’s Couloir while on a visit to North America.

I’ve seen a lot of videos and photos of people doing a backflip into Corbet’s Couloir, but also Corbet’s Couloir fails and falls that looked like a lot of pain. It’s not just the Kings and Queens event that draws attention to this adventure. The story is also exciting: the namesake, Barry Corbet, foresaw that skiers would one day jump into the gorge and ski.

Jackson Hole’s Guide To Skiing Corbet’s Couloir:

“To tackle Corbet’s Couloir, start by planning your trip to Jackson Hole and brushing up on your skills. JHMR offers a Steep and Deep camp designed to help skiers master advanced techniques. OnceG you arrive, take a few moments to watch how seasoned skiers approach the run—it’s a perfect mix of skill and style. Even experienced skiers find Corbet’s challenging, so only highly experienced skiers and riders should attempt to ski the Couloir. If you hope to ski the Couloir one day, but need to brush up on your skills, check out our Terrain Parks.“
