LAKE PUEBLO STATE PARK, Colorado – A tragic boating accident led to the death of a 43-year-old female at Lake Pueblo State Park in Colorado over the weekend.

Park Rangers and first responders were alerted to the incident by a 911 call. The incident occurred around 4pm on Saturday, July 19th. The accident, involving a powered watercraft and contact with the engine propeller, took place on the water near Denver Cove mid-lake near the north Shore.

A Park Ranger patrol boat raced to assist the boat with the victim in returning to North Shore Marina. Additional Park Rangers and Pueblo West Firefighters were waiting at the marina when the boat arrived.

Life-saving measures were attempted before the Pueblo County Coroner pronounced the victim deceased at 5:14pm. The incident is currently under further investigation.
