East Burke, Vermont — Work is underway on various projects this offseason at Burke Mountain Resort thanks to new ownership. Unfortunately, they received another item to add to the to-do list last week.

WCAX reports that a truck crashed into the Burke Mountain Hotel & Conference Center. The situation occurred last Wednesday at around 11:15 a.m. The truck, owned by Eliminator Pest Control, had no one in the vehicle at the time of the crash. Police discovered that the truck slid from a parking lot above the building, resulting in the crash. That’s one way to get rid of the rodents.

For Eliminator, the good news is that they got some free marketing! The bad news is that they are likely going to get a fresh bill from the ski resort.

Since being acquired by a local group this past spring, various projects are underway at Burke. The most significant upgrade underway this offseason is to the snowmaking system, with the goal of tripling the system’s capacity.
