SNOWBIRD, Utah – Snowbird is getting ready to open their brand-new mid-mountain restaurant, and they’re seeking help from public in giving it a name. The restaurant features Swiss floor-to-ceiling glass windows on 3 sides, offering incredible views of the surrounding mountain peaks and the valley below.
After collecting a series of name submissions, Snowbird has narrowed it down to just three possible names, “The Nest”, “Vitrea”, and “The Cube”. “The Nest” is pretty self explanatory as it’s perched on the slopes of Snowbird. Similarly, “The Cube” comes from the building’s striking geometry, though it isn’t actually a perfect cube.
“Vitrea” is derived from the Latin word for “glass”, honoring the building’s airy openness and its 145 precision-crafted window panels made in Switzerland.
The new restaurant, designed by GSBS Architects and built by Layton Construction, is set to open at the start of the 2025/26 ski and snowboard season. You can vote for the new name here.
