All the winter sports athletes aiming to stand on the podium in Italy in February now know exactly what they are vying for as the Milano Cortina 2026 committee just unveiled the design of their Olympic medals. They partnered with Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato (IPZS) who used their superior craftsmanship and to bring the awards to life:

“A dynamic graphic abstraction showing the union of two parts in constant motion, highlighted by the contrast between a granular texture and a mirrored surface. The design stays pure and simple — using only the essential lines to express the ideas of union and movement. The medal’s energy comes from this division, representing ongoing change. These elements are brought together by the Olympic and Paralympic values, turning contrast into unity and motion into meaning.”

Heady description of the design but in simple terms they look clean and we hope to see a multitude hanging around the necks of Team USA athletes. 204 days until opening ceremonies…LETS GO!
