Teton County, Wyoming – The Tetons have undergone another dramatic transformation after a large section of the iconic Second Tower collapsed over the 4th of July weekend. Grand Teton National Park rangers and climbers reported multiple rockfall events around July 5th, with debris seen cascading onto the Teepe Glacier. This marks the second major collapse of the Second Tower since 2022.

The recent rockfall activity is cause for concern amongst hikers and climbers in the area as The East Ridge route now lies beneath an active collapse zone with unknown stability. Grand Teton National Park rangers are urging people to avoid the area and stay informed through official park alerts.
