So far Yellowstone National Park has seen more visitors in 2025 than any year prior, though June’s visitation numbers saw a decrease from Yellowstone’s record-breaking year of 2021.
Yellowstone hosted 928,250 recreation visits this June, up 1% from June 2024’s 914,612 recreation visits. This June’s visitations showed a 1% decrease from June 2021 when 938,845 recreation visits were recorded.
2025 has seen 1,690,922 recreation visits in Yellowstone so far, up 4% from 2024’s 1,633,739 recreation visits and up 6% from 2021’s 1,587,998 recreation visits. 2023 saw 1,592,843 recreation visits by the end of June. In 2022 Yellowstone was closed from June 13th through June 21st due to historic flooding. The park reopened with three entrances on June 22.
Yellowstone’s record year, 2021, saw a total of 4,860,242 recreation visits. 2024 saw 4,744,353 recreation visits and 2023 saw 4,501,382. Will 2025 set a new record?
