Weird chairlifts always are always a fun experience. Whether it’s a funky t-bar, chairlift/gondola hybrid, or something else bizarre, it’s never disappointing to check out those out-of-the-ordinary lifts when we’re so used to the normal chairlift experience.
This funitel in Bratislava, Slovakia, sadly isn’t something the public can just purchase a ticket to ride on, but it is still very cool to have a look at. Constructed in 2002 by Doppelmayr, the lift was built to transport new cars over a VW factory between the assembly line and the in-house testing area.
It travels a distance of 450 meters (~1476 feet) at the low speed of 2.8m/s. Other than the speed, this lift functions pretty much the same as a normal funitel.
