Have you been eyeing a trip to Sun Valley? If you don’t live nearby, getting there is about to get easier.

Yesterday, American Airlines announced several new routes for the winter of 2025-26. The most noteworthy ones for skiers and riders are two new routes to Sun Valley. Chicago O’Hare (ORD) and Phoenix (PHX) will offer daily direct flights to Sun Valley from December 18 to April 8. This means that more than 150 destinations are just one stop away from Sun Valley.

Also of note are two new routes into Santa Fe (SAF). American announced that they’ll also be adding direct flights to Santa Fe from Chicago and Los Angeles (LAX). The closest ski resort to that airport is the rejuvenated Ski Santa Fe. In addition, it’s only a couple of hours away from Taos and Angel Fire.

Other new winter routes include a direct flight between Charlotte and Aspen, as well as a direct route between Chicago and Missoula.

These routes will go on sale on June 30th on the American Airlines website and mobile app.
