Glenwood Springs, Colorado — It’s going to be a busy offseason at Sunlight Mountain Resort. They’re currently working on two chairlift projects: replacing Primo with a fixed-grip quad and replacing Segundo with a fixed-grip triple (previously from Arapahoe Basin). This means that Sunlight will be auctioning off many of the old chairs from these lifts.
If you’re looking to grab a new chair for your backyard, there will be a couple of chances next week to do so.
The first batch will be available to season passholders at Sunlight Mountain Resort. The winners of the chairs will be announced at a chair drawing on June 16th. If the individual’s name is drawn, they’ll have the chance to purchase a chair. One hundred chairs will be available for $1000 each. Season pass holders will need to sign up by 11:59 p.m. on June 15th by emailing PrimoSegundoDrawing@SunlightMTN.com.
The second batch will be available through an online auction. On June 17th and 18th, an auction will take place for 183 chairs from Segundo and Primo. Guests will be able to bid for specific chair numbers. The auction will go from 9 a.m. on June 17th until 9 p.m. on June 18th. Chairs will be limited to two per household.
The third way is through an in-person auction. On June 19th at 4:30 p.m., Sunlight will be hosting an in-person auction at the Morgridge Commons in Glenwood Springs. There will be 25 highly desired chairs available, meaning that 69 will probably be available. Tickets will be limited to 150 people, but there’s also an option to attend virtually and not buy a ticket. Food and beverages will be included if you do go in person.
For those who buy a chair, Sunlight Mountain is partnering with Last Chair Customs to help buyers customize it for their living spaces or backyards.
Lift towers from Segundo are also for sale. If you’re interested, contact info@sunlightMTN.com.Â

The new Segundo and Primo chairlifts are scheduled to open during the 2025-26 season.
