Ever since professional mountain biker Nico Vink watched Markus ‘Max’ Stöckl set the mountain bike gravel world speed record (103 mph) he wanted to travel to the same volcano in Nicaragua and see how fast he could go.

Unlike Stöckl who wore a specialized suit for optimal aerodynamics while bombing the 45 degree slope, Vink just had on normal mountain biking attire when he cracked 90mph on April 29th.

You may notice something missing from Vink’s handlebars in the video, brakes! No official confirmation but the comment section on the video is quick to point out that even applying the breaks slightly in this scenario could end up with a viscous crash. Wild!
