High winds at Wolf Creek Ski Area have forced the Colorado mountain to stay shuttered throughout the day today, April 1.

Wolf Creek received 3 inches of new snow last night, bringing their season total to 205 inches and their all-natural snow depth up to 61 inches. Despite the snow, the ski area will not run any lifts today due to high winds.

The area’s forecast has a chance of snow showers every day between today and Sunday, April 5. Wind speeds are expected to be between 10 and 40mph today, with gusts reaching up to 60mph.

Total snow accumulation throughout Tuesday, April 1, is expected to be around 4 inches. The National Weather Service is forecasting lower wind speeds tomorrow, April 2, in the Wolf Creek area, though speeds between 15-20mph are still possible. Sunday, April 6, is set to be Wolf Creek’s last day of the 2024/25 ski season.
