Taylor Falls, Minnesota — Fresh off the end of its 2024-25 ski season on March 22nd, Wild Mountain is now doing some spring cleaning. Part of that cleaning is selling four of its historic snowcats.

Last Friday, Wild Mountain announced that they are selling four of its snowcats for $4900 or the best offer.

These are Thiokol snowcats from the 1960s and 70s. The snowcat portion of Thiokol’s business was spun off to a different business in 1978, so these vehicles are becoming rarer to find. A reason why Wild is selling them wasn’t specified, but these snowcats are still functional. Some potential uses outside of ski areas include logging trees, moving across wet terrain, and moving ice fishing equipment from the lake/pond.

For those who are interested in buying one, you can email marketing@wildmountain.com.

Located an hour’s drive outside of Minneapolis, Wild Mountain features 26 trails, 9 lifts, and a vertical drop of 300 feet. In the summertime, Wild continues to a bustling place, with a water park, go karts, and alpine slides.
