Moose uses crosswalk @ Anchorage, Alaska

Alaska moose (Alces alces gigas) are the largest subspecies of moose and have wide home range spanning from the Stikine River in Southeast Alaska to the Colville River on the Arctic Slope. Alaska’s moose population is estimated at around 175,000 animals.

For you’re average Alaskan seeing a moose on the road is nothing to write home about but seeing a member of world’s tallest, largest and heaviest extant species of deer casually using a crosswalk in heavy traffic will always be a notable occasion.

Loving this reaction by Tania TS who managed to pull out her phone and grab a video of a gigantic moose who did not obey the traffic lights at Piper Street and East Tudor Road in Anchorage, Alaska but did manage to use the crosswalk.

Before we condemn this big fella for not waiting for a green light to make his way across the road, we should remember that moose like all members of the deer family are color blind due to a shortage of cone cells in their retinas, which are responsible for color sensitivity.
