Staying off sight has the potential to ruin a ski trip if done poorly.
Staying off sight has the potential to ruin a ski trip if done poorly.

Booking a ski trip can turn out to be quite the hassle. Lift tickets can wind up very expensive, housing can be hard to find, and sometimes the people you book with wind up being not all that fun. Then you finally get the whole thing figured out, the trip comes up, and you wind up at an overcrowded mountain with bad conditions.

But it doesn’t have to be that much of a pain. Talk to any of your ski bum friends and they might have some remarkable tips for your next trip. Everyone has their own little secrets to making ski vacations better, or their favorite, less-known resorts that you should book a trip to. But maybe you don’t have a ski bum friend. In that case, PeakRankings has you covered with their comprehensive list of mistakes you’re probably making while booking ski trips.

I think the biggest thing on this list is going with the wrong people. If the resort conditions are terrible, a great group of people can make the whole thing a blast. If the resort conditions are incredible, a bad group can still destroy the entire adventure. Remember, skiing is a whole lot more fun with friends, so make sure you pick the right one.
