Snow making at Sunday River.
Snow making at Sunday River.

Maine’s Sunday River ski resort will be open TOMORROW, October 31, for a day of spooky Halloween skiing and snowboarding. The Locke Mountain Triple will run from 10am-2pm with EXPERT ONLY AND UNGROOMED skiing taking place on T2. Downloading will be required.

The Halloween Ski Day will only be available for those with New England Passes, Ikon and Mountain Collective Passes, and Ticket Packs, and those hoping to ride the lift are required to wear some sort of costume. Everyone must show their Halloween spirit, or they won’t be riding on snow!

No rentals or lessons will be available tomorrow, but guest services will be available for those who need assistance with their passes in Barker and South Ridge. Additionally, the Barker Bar will be open with limited offerings and some special treats will be provided to those celebrating the spooky holiday.

Again, skiing and snowboarding tomorrow at Sunday River is EXPERTS ONLY. If you aren’t comfortable riding on a crowded trail with ungroomed and warm conditions, stay home. This is just a one day opening so far and does not mark the formal opening of the Sunday River ski season. Their formal opening day is yet to be announced.

We’re thrilled to announce that we are open for skiing tomorrow, October 31, for a Halloween ski day. This is not us formally opening for the season, but we couldn’t pass up the opportunity for some turns.
