Skiing in Helly Hansen gear.
Skiing in Helly Hansen gear.

Looking for some killer deals as you get ready for ski season? Helly Hansen‘s “Ski Free” promotion might be along the lines of what you’re looking for. The gear itself is not discounted, but purchasing a jacket or pants from the company’s latest “Ski Free” collection will earn you a free day of skiing or snowboarding at one of over 50 partner ski resorts.

What to wear while skiing

This isn’t the first time the company has done such a promotion, but that doesn’t make it any less sweet. It works like this: you buy a pair of snowpants or a jacket from the collection (there are plenty of options), take a look at the list of partner resorts to decide where you’d like to go, and validate your receipt. And just like that, you’re skiing for free.

Some partner resorts, like Alyeska Resort in Alaska, offer a free one day lift ticket for those who’ve purchased gear in the Helly Hansen “Ski Free” line. Other resorts, like Vermont’s Jay Peak, offer two lift tickets for the price of one on a single day, while some like Verbier in Switzerland offer a buy one lift ticket, get the second day free deal. Meanwhile, Ski Marmot Basin in Canada offers a 3 day pack for the price of 2 days, and Hafjell Ski School in Norway offers a free one hour lesson with an instructor.

The entire list of partner resorts is visible here, but you can trust me when I say it’s robust. Whether you’re looking for a day on the slopes of Europe, a day of powder skiing in Canada, or just hoping to find some free skiing somewhere nearby, you probably won’t be disappointed by the options.

All gear in the “Ski Free” lineup can be purchased on the Helly Hansen website. Options range from kid’s snowpants for under $100 to adult jackets well over $800 and everything in between.
