Ludlow, Vermont – A Saturday night fire has destroyed a portion of a condo complex.

NBC5 reports that nine local fire departments responded to a fire at a condo in Ludlow, Vermont. The fire happened at the Slopeside Condos situated at 60 Okemo Trailside Road. This condo building is located near the Sachem ski trail. Fourteen people were inside the building when it started but were able to escape. One side of the building is a complete loss, while the other portion of the complex suffered minor damage.

As pictured below, the fire was visible from the ski resort and the town of Ludlow.

The fire was investigated yesterday by the Vermont Division of Fire Safety & Vermont State Police Fire Investigation Unit. They determined that it started in the chimney chase of unit A and was accidental. Yesterday, the Ludlow Fire Department issued the following statement:

The building that caught fire was not owned by or affiliated with Okemo Mountain Resort/Vail Resorts. The fire did not impact any of the resort’s facilities and thus won’t impact its opening plans for the 2024-25 season.
