Purgatory Resort saw its first significant snowfall this past weekend, with the weather allowing the mountain operations team to kick off snowmaking ahead of the 2024/25 ski season.
Snowmaking has begun on several major trails including Westfork, Limbo, and El Diablo, and the automated system installed during the 22-23 has been hard at work on Upper Demon. Purgatory is set to open on November 16 of this year, running daily until April 13 and with weekend operations until April 27.
The resort’s 2024/25 ski season comes with several upgrades, including the Hermosa Park Express Lift #3’s new low voltage safety control system. The mountain’s retail footprint has also been expanded with four new pickup stations for online purchases. The Village Market & Deli has undergone a complete renovation as well, and trail crews have worked through the summer to clean up and improve several trails around the mountain.
Tickets are on sale for Purgatory’s upcoming ski season now, and can be purchased here for as low as $9 if purchased far enough ahead of time. Purgatory employs a dynamic model to their prices, adjusting and increasing based on demand. The resort is also available on the Power Pass and the Power Kids pass. The Power Kids pass is entirely free to kids 12 and under, providing unlimited access to several resorts around the country for no cost at all.
