Skier scores multiple October runs at Stowe.

Vermont has seen some serious snowfall this past week, with several mountains receiving nearly 10 inches over the past few days. Sadly Stowe hasn’t actually started sharing the amount of snowfall they’ve received to their website as they would in the winter, but that’s what first person videos are for.

YouTuber mybadvideos (beer_mercenary on Instagram, Daniel Reich in real life) apparently grew tired of waiting for ski season to kick off, deciding instead to just go ski. So he managed his way to the top of Stowe for a couple of runs, two days in a row. He notes that the first day, October 16, is the earliest he’s ever skied in a season.

On day one, Daniel skied from Upper Perry Merrill to Cliff Trail to Nosedive to Lower National to Crossover until he hit dirt. He notes that the snow was much better from around 2,000-2,500 feet and up. On the second day, Daniel skied goat from the top of the Forerunner Quad, riding until he hit rocks.

As a note, many resorts are not cool with people skiing or snowboarding when they aren’t open. So if you hope to get some laps in before everyone else, make sure you know the rules at your mountain before you do so. You don’t want to be the dude who gets his pass pulled before the season even starts.
