It may only have been a systems check but with temperatures dipping right below freezing and the projected opening day of 2024/2025 winter operations “28-ish days out” Trollhaugen Ski Resort in Dresser, Wisconsin fired up its snowguns and we are fired up just like their machinery:

“The sweet sight of snowguns blasting. This morning called for a test run with that wet bulb temperature at 31.8° and let us say it felt good to be back. Bring on winter, SKØL.”

Great to see a Midwest ski resort getting a jump on the season!

Trollhaugen Ski Resort is actually hosting a rail jam tomorrow utilizing snow they have stowed away since the spring. Admission is free and all are welcome. Here’s a video from last year of the folks at The Troll unearthing their snow cache:
