Copper Mountain's Hike Park.

COPPER MOUNTAIN, Colorado – When ski race training began at Copper Mountain Resort in October of 2023, who could have guessed that skiing and snowboarding would continue on the mountain for a full 12 months? People who know Copper well, possibly, but that doesn’t make the feat any less impressive. Copper Mountain’s hike park is set to close, capping off a 12 month streak of skiing and boarding on the resort, on Sunday, September 8.

Copper’s hike park opened to the public on June 7th, allowing guests to ride rails and boxes for just $25 a day, Friday-Sunday, from 10am-5pm. Skiers and snowboarders can still get on snow at Copper this weekend, with tickets available for purchase here. Additionally, the final Woodward Summer rail jam event is scheduled for September 6. Registration is done through the Copper website.

The closure of the hike park does not mean that the monthly streak will end, however. Plans currently have ski racers returning to the Colorado mountain in October, bringing the resort to 13 consecutive months of skiing and snowboarding on snow, and Copper’s official opening date is currently scheduled for November 8, 2024. The return of ski season is coming soon!
