UNITED STATES – We’re now reaching a point where many people are closer to the start of the next ski season then we are to the end of the last. But that doesn’t mean skiing is over everywhere. You could head towards the southern hemisphere (South America has plenty of snow), or you could just head to one of the three places in the United States that are still offering open, real snow skiing…

Red Gerard and crew ride Copper Summer Camp

Copper Mountain, Colorado

Okay, this first one isn’t a full blown resort. There are no open ski lifts for public use. But if you’re looking to continue your park progression through the summer in Colorado, the Copper Mountain hike-to park is the place to do it. With plenty of rails and boxes for the park skiers and snowboarders, the Copper park allows you to hike up for just $25 from 10am-5pm on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Timberline Lodge, Oregon

If you’re looking for a more traditional ski area experience, Timberline Lodge allows lift access skiing and snowboarding on the Palmer Snowfield area of Mount Hood. Multiple lanes will be reserved for private training and summer camps, but there will always be a few lanes open to the public. If you’re making the trip to Oregon, Timberline Lodge’s Palmer Express and Palmer Snowfield is open from 8am-2pm every day, costing guests $105 a day.

Big SNOW American Dream, New Jersey

This might be the least conventional ski area on this list, but there are open ski lifts and snow to ski on at this New Jersey resort. The catch with Big SNOW American Dream is that it’s inside a mall, so probably not what you’re used to. The indoor resort has three ski runs, a park, two carpets, one t-bar, and one chairlift, available for $59.99 for a two hour session. Big SNOW American Dream is open from 1pm-8pm Monday-Thursday, 1pm-9pm on Fridays, 10am-9pm on Saturdays, and 10am-8pm on Sundays.
