PORTILLO, Chile – Skier Jaki (@jakfruit) shared her experience skiing at Portillo in a fun and unique way, creating a Wes Anderson style edit of the trip. While this has been a trend for a while, I think her Ski Portillo edit might be my favorite. I could truly see a Wes Anderson movie taking place at Hotel Portillo. Maybe Wes Anderson’s take on an Aspen Extreme style movie?
This really is an extrovert’s dream ski trip. Portillo is also known as “The Yellow Cruise” because it’s structured around being very communal. Just like a cruise! There are a ton of common areas throughout the resort, so you’re constantly seeing the same faces and making friends. It’s also home to the world’s most unhinged ski lift (and snowboarder’s worst nightmare) the Va Y Vient!
