VAL D’ARAN, Spain – Spanish nordic skiing Paralympian Pol Makuri Redolad Garcia just recently placed 52nd overall in the 32K EXP at the Hoka Val D’Aran Pyrenees by UTMB, completing the race in just 3 hours and 47 minutes. Pol Makuri has had cerebral palsy since childhood, and he competed in three nordic events in the 2022 Beijing Paralympic Winter Games.

As a Paralympian it is a privilege to be able to see how Ultra works so that athletes with functional diversity can work and dream with this spectacular sport and make their way towards Chamonix, as this year they have elaborated a specific regulation for us and so be able to promote much more Trailrunning paralympian

The 32K EXP at the Hoka Val D’Aran Pyrenees by UTMB is a 32km (~20 mile) trail running race in the Pyrenees, with 2,100 meters (~6889 feet) of elevation gain throughout the entire race. The distance might not be more than a marathon, but the elevation change is insane. It’s a part of the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc series and, according to his Instagram, Pol Makuri hopes to make it into the finals.

Huge congrats to Pol Makuri on the great finish. We look forward to seeing you in more races in the future!
