We all wish we could capture some seriously professional footage when we’re out on an adventure, but a lot of capturing the right stuff in the right way comes with serious experience. Experience that you and I might not have, but experience that filmmaker and professional climber Renan Ozturk certainly does have. YouTuber Potato Jet got a filmmaking crash course from the climber, and there are some very solid tips to keep in mind.
Obviously you’re not expected to have the same camera as Renan Ozturk in this clip (the Sony Burano is definitely not cheap…), but many of the tips can apply to everyone. Wear bright clothing, film in gnarly weather, have multiple attachment points for the mics, the best angles, etc.
