Olympic Valley, California — If you were at an airport on Friday, you probably had a great time.
A failed software update on Crowdstrike caused its systems to break down on Thursday night and Friday. Many companies in different sectors use Crowdstrike, especially in the aviation industry. This resulted in flights from a few airlines needing to be grounded in the middle of the morning on Friday. For travelers and workers, it was a nightmarish situation with no quick answers.
So what can people do in a bizarre instance like this? If you’re a wise marketer, you can make light of the moment and offer a solid deal. In response to the Crowdstrike fiasco, Palisades Tahoe put a promo code into the now infamous blue screen. They are offering up to 25% off lodging at The Village at Palisades Tahoe this summer if you’re an Ikon Passholder. The deal is 25% for weeknight stays and 15% for overnight on the weekends this summer. The one time period during which this deal is available is August 2-4, 2024.
Honestly, this whole situation makes me want to visit Palisades Tahoe in the summertime, but then I remembered flying is currently a disaster, so you California and Nevada folks can have at this deal.
