CARLSBAD, California – Most surfers hate the concept of a crowded line-up, but the crowd at Tamarack Surf Beach in Carlsbad, California, welcomes the mayhem for ‘Slamarack’. One day, hundreds of surfers, one beach. It’s terrifying, but it also looks like a killer time.

The sad thing is this probably believable as a real line-up these days. If this sort of event was brought into skiing, and you showed me a video claiming that it was a rope drop, I’d almost definitely believe you. Something about these days man, something about these days.

But as a fun event, this looks like a blast. Good way to get hurt? Possibly. But it looks liek it would make for an awesome day.
