Spectacular natural arch in Western Montana.

When you think of famous arches to visit you might head to St. Louis or to your neighborhood McDonalds. Even better you could visit Arches National Park in Utah where you can find the highest density of natural stone arches in the world (over 2,000 documented arches). Well the former might have name recognition, I have to say Horsehead Arch in the Bitterroot Mountains in Western Montana takes the cake for most breathtaking. Formed out of granite (unlike most natural arches composed of sandstone) Horsehead Arch stands 160 feet tall and has a window 60 feet in width. Standing beneath it is a geological experience you will never forget.

If you’d like to see Horsehead Arch for yourself, head to the Blodgett Canyon Trailhead in the Bitterroot National Forest and be prepared for a hike. MORE INFO HERE.
