Ski resort works at Victoria, Australia have banded together in a limited strike on one of the busiest weekends of the season in opposition to penalty rates. Visitors have been inconvenienced by the partial strike at two resort with parking lots being shutdown and operational workers picketing. The Australian Workers Union wants weekend rates to be introduced at Mt. Buller and elsewhere. Saturday’s actions are just the beginning with more resorts and longer stoppages planned in coming weeks.
