Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg Issues Statement Following Teton Pass Road Collapse

Wyoming — The Wydaho community is reeling as Teton Pass will be closed for an unforeseen timeframe due to a catastrophic road failure. This means commuters or people traveling between Idaho and Wyoming will have an extended commute. Teton County Commission Chairman Luther Props told WyoFile that the reopening timeline could be a few weeks or months.

Yesterday, U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg issued a statement about the Teton Pass landslide. The statement below, while succinct, tells people that the US Department of Transportation will be working on the rebuilding effort with Wyoming.

I suggest a temporary bridge while they rebuild the surface around it, but I’m obviously not a road engineer.
