Pontoon boats pushing small island

Hayward, Wisconsin – On June 4, 2024, an unusual event unfolded near Hayward, Wisconsin, USA. A floating bog, driven by the wind, drifted into the waterways near The Landing Resort LCO. This large, mobile mass of vegetation posed a significant obstacle to boat traffic, impeding the movement of vessels in the area.

The local boating community quickly came together to address the issue. In a coordinated effort, boaters used their vessels to push and steer the bog out of the way, restoring safe passage through the affected waters.
