COPPER MOUNTAIN, Colorado – Copper Mountain‘s fourth annual Union Peak Festival will welcome GROUPLOVE and Violent Femmes as headline acts on September 6 & 7, closing out a summer of free live music.

Friday, September 6, will see GROUPLOVE take the stage in the evening. GROUPLOVE’s latest album, ‘I Want It All Right Now’, was released in early May, though the band’s most popular song is 2011’s ‘Tongue Tied’. Violent Femmes, known most for their 1983 song ‘Blister In The Sun’, will take the stage Saturday night, September 7.

The Union Peak Festival runs for two days, featuring interactive art installations, booths, sports demonstrations, gatherings, and, of course, free live music. Though the weekend is entirely free, guests can upgrade to a series of VIP packages for an enhanced experience.

The Union Peak Festival is the last weekend of free live music at the Colorado ski resort, but plenty of other live music opportunities are around before September. The weekend of July 4 will see the Red, White, Brews & Tunes festival, featuring Donavon Frankenreiter, Brittney Spencer, and Grace Potter. On August 10, Copper Country brings the Josh Abbott Band and Chancey Williams to the stage.

Throughout the summer, Brews & Tunes will run every Friday starting on June 21. On Saturdays, Acoustic Glow will keep things going beginning at 7pm at the Fire globe in Copper’s Center Village. Lastly, throughout Copper Live presented by Odell Brewing Co. You can view the entire summer event schedule here.
