If you’re trying to convince your parents that you’re happy and safe while skiing, don’t show them this video. Chris Whatford attempted to jump this rather large river/canyon on skis but couldn’t quite get the necessary speed to do so. Fortunately he lands on the rise of the built up landing ramp, rather than on the rock wall or inside the canyon itself.
This pursuit of dangerous runs scares the heck out of people who aren’t involved in the world of extreme sports. I’m sure there are plenty of skiers who will see this and think “what and idiot”, but there’s really just something different built into the minds of these athletes. You’re not going to convince them to stop.
