Useful little video from Vivid Snowboarding, a snowboard instructional school in Verbier, on how to deal with flat light conditions (aka low visibility) on the hill. Unless your Yoda and can use the force to navigate when you can’t really make out the definition of the terrain that surrounds you, these tips will come in handy when the mountain is socked in and everything becomes amorphous:

– Good goggles are essential

– Keep the riding reserved and defensive.

– Use your feet and lower body to feel your way down the mountain.

– Be aware of the piste markers to help guide you through the bad weather.

– Always head for the trees which help define the snow and terrain.
