A major chairlift replacement is coming to a popular Chilean ski resort.

Yesterday, Corralco Resort de Montaña announced that the Volcán chairlift is going to be replaced during this upcoming offseason. This fixed-grip double chairlift is being replaced by a high-speed detachable quad chairlift. This replacement will be 2.5x times faster than its predecessor, with a total length of 1,500 meters/4291 feet. The new chairlift is expected to open during the 2024 ski season.
I’ve personally never visited Corralco, so it was best to head over to the comments section on their socials to see what guests had to say about it. Most were happy with the move, praising ownership for investing in the ski resort. One commenter applauded the move but wanted Corralco to fix the potholes on their access road. In their defense, they’re not the only ski resort that needs to do that.
