It is with a heavy heart that we share the news that Dr. Robb Gaffney has passed away. Robb was a ski legend and a hero to many in the Lake Tahoe region. He is also the author of the revered book ‘Squallywood,’ and co-creator of the game of G.N.A.R.
Robb was a very thoughtful man who cared deeply for his family, community, the sport of skiing, and the environment. He worked hard to protect Olympic Valley from overdevelopment with an eye on environmental stewardship.
It’s hard to express the true impact Robb had on the ski community, especially the community of Olympic Valley and North Lake Tahoe. He will be missed by many.
As his brother Scott said, he was “One of one.”
