This Video Encapsulates The East Coast Skiing Experience

Back in 2020, I moved back to the East Coast after years of shredding the Greatest Snow on Earth. Since then, skiing in New England has had its moment (like the three to four-foot snowstorm in December 2020, and the March storms that turned around last winter), but it has had a lot of low points. In terms of the lowlights, there’s been record-low temperatures, frozen granular skiing, and lots of rainy days.

A video from Franz Smith describes that struggle. The clip, which comes from Bean: The Movie, shows the wild ride after Mr. Bean tampers with a virtual roller coaster. Franz added captions to describe the varying Northeast ski conditions, like 50-degree days in January, wintry mixes, ice sheets, heavy sticky snow conditions, and rocks on the snow. It’s all set to Bangarang, a chaotic song by Skrillex (feat. Sirah). I definitely experienced 75% of the things mentioned in the video last season.

Here’s hoping this upcoming winter on the East Coast will be like the 2014-15 season.
